4 of Cups

Take time daily to reflect on how much you have. It may not be all that you want but remember someone somewhere is dreaming to have what you have.

~Germany Kent

The message of the 4 of cups says, be grateful with what you have and stop thinking about what you don’t have. Sometimes, the thing that you desire and wish for the most, is right under your nose. You just can’t see it and appreciate it because you’re too busy closing your eyes so tightly while wishing for it. Basically, the 4 of cups is advising you to count your blessings…and then count them again because you have a lot of positive things going on in your life that other people could only dream of. So stop wishing for more and be content with what you already have. Then, when what you’re dreaming of does come true, you will be in the right frame of mind to accept it with gratitude

….🤔On a personal note, perhaps this card is telling me to stop thinking about how I don’t have enough tarot decks because one can never have enough tarot decks really lol and instead, be content and grateful with the decks I have. I admit, the message of the 4 of cups was on point. I fear I am developing an addiction to deck collecting 🤣
Can anyone else relate? Or is it just me?

Moonchild Tarot Deck

“You never know how strong you are until being strong is all you have”

The strength card symbolizes your inner strength. You need to trust your inner voice to speak the truth. Strength doesn’t always have to be a strong show of force. It can also be a gentle way of guiding people and situations to get what you want. In the picture of the card, a young woman is sitting peacefully with her eyes closed, trusting that she has indeed tamed the beast that sits at her back. She has tamed him, not through force, but through love, nurturing and compassion. They now have a mutual trust for one another. Sometimes in situations, you have to know when to be vocally strong type, and when to be silent manipulator of situation from behind the scenes. Now is the time to maintain your composure while summoning your inner strength to overcome any obstacles that are in your way.

Today is the day to summon your inner strength and be strong in the face of your obstacles. You will stand your ground with poise. You will tame the beast of your challenges today. Trust your inner voice and be ready to face your fears. Now is the time to stop hiding from what is difficult. Today is the day to stop procrastinating on doing the last thing on your to-do list. Know that you are strong enough to navigate through today’s obstacles while also maintaining your composure. Today is the day. Get it done.

I went to the Black Cauldron and picked up some pear, cinnamon and clove incense sticks because I’m currently addicted to incense.
I went to Pyramid Books and picked up a wisdom and clarity candle that both came with crystals because it just so happens that I’m addicted to candles too.
I went to The Village Silversmith and picked up a really cool witching ball and a selenite heart pendant that is super cute.
I also went I to Tibet Arts and Healing and picked up some sage because I was running low.Plus, you can never really have too much sage.Am I right?

How to Make A Drawstring Tarot Card Bag

How to make a drawstring tarot card bag

It’s nice to display your tarot cards in their original boxes all lined up on a bookshelf, but sometimes it’s also nice to make them their own little bag to call home. Here is my 3 minute youtube video showing how to make a quick and easy satin lined drawstring bag for your tarot or oracle cards. All you need is a few materials that you probably have on hand.

Two of Wands

Shadowscapes Tarot

“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them”

~ Walt Disney

Pictured in the two of wands is a woman who sits on a rock, pensively staring out into the horizon. Should she stay or should she go? The world is her oyster, if only she is ready to take the leap.
This card usually appears in your spread when there is a choice to be made.

1. Stay with what is comfortable or
2. Take a leap of faith and start on a new adventure, which is a risk.

This card is saying that the world has something bigger to offer you, you only have to step out of your comfort zone and explore all of your options. It brings the message of; before you do make the decision to go, you should plan, plan again, then plan some more because planning is your key to success. .

The Empress

Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.” “Just living is not enough. One must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower.” “Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.

The Empress is a representation of the mother of the tarot. She is comforting, warm, inviting, nurturing and truly cares for your well being and happiness. She represents mother nature, fertility and abundance.

She is a reminder to us all that we must enjoy nature to the fullest extent that we can. Stop and take a moment to really look around at the changing autumn leaves. Go pick some apples or pumpkins. Sit outside at night and enjoy the full moon. Observe the beauty of nature during the day. Listen to the stillness of nature at night. Just be content to experience the present moment of where you are in your life’s journey, with all of your senses. If when walking down the street you look down and see a beautiful leaf, pick it up and put it in your pocket to admire later. When getting into your car in the morning on your way to work, take a minute to look up in the sky at the clouds. Start being more present and mindful of where you physically are in this moment in time. Ground yourself, close your eyes, breathe deeply and welcome the feeling of contentment at simply being alive. Right now, take a moment to enjoy everything that is good in this world and in your life. Feel it with every part of your physical being.

Two Of Pentacles

Shadowscape Tarot

Most of the time multitasking is an illusion. You think you are multitasking but in reality you’re actually wasting time switching from one task to another.

~Bosco Tjan

This card is currently the story of my life. When this card comes up in your spread, it means that you are multitasking and trying to juggle too many things at once. Life can be very hectic and you want to get everything done at once and please everyone at once. Everything and everyone is demanding your time at the same time. Work is busy, family life is busy, friend life is busy. So much to do, so little time. So far you’re doing an ok job of this juggling routine but sometime soon, everything is going to come crashing down if you don’t relax a little bit.

So when this card comes up in your spread, just stop trying to do it all supergirl. Put somethings down for a hot minute and focus on the most important thing you have going on currently. Complete that task well, then move onto the next one. Step by step is the way to accomplish everything well. Easier said than done, I know. Just do your best to slow it down and you’ll feel much more relaxed in the long run.

Six of Wands

Shadowscape Tarot

“The victory of success is half won when one gains the habit of setting goals and achieving them.”

~Og Mandino

The man in this card carries the wreath of victory as he stands triumphantly in front of his tribe. Six wands are raised to honor him.

When this card is drawn for your daily card draw, it is meant to be a pat on the back for a job well done. This card represents vindication for a your hard work and struggle to accomplish a goal. It shows you are willing to take a chance on an idea and to persist with it to the point of success. This card is definitely a sign of encouragement. It is a message of hope. Continue working hard on your goal so your obstacles to success can be overcome and your efforts can be rewarded.

Shadowscape Tarot

What you discover on your own is always more exciting than what someone else discovers for you – it’s like the marriage between romantic love and an arranged marriage.” –Terrence Rafferty

The Hermit holds the lamp of wisdom to guide others to greater awareness. She often represents a period of contemplation. She is on a journey of self-discovery of her own inner awareness. The Hermit truly symbolizes a self-discovery through inner reflection.

When the hermit comes up in your daily card draw, it is a gentle reminder to slow down and take a quick pause from life’s hectic demands and take some time alone for yourself. Do a quick mental check-in with yourself and see if what you’re doing on a daily basis is productive in manifesting your life goals. We look to the tarot to tell us what we want to know, but sometimes the tarot reminds us that often the knowledge we seek is within us already. We just need to set aside some alone time to go searching for it.

Hansen Roberts Tarot Deck Interview

Hansen Robert’s Tarot Deck

So I’ve decided to start interviewing my tarot decks to see what they have to say, in terms of the way we can best work together. Even though I’ve owned this Hansen Roberts Tarot deck for almost 30 years, I am ashamed to say, I have never sat down to interview it.

When interviewing this deck, I drew 4 out of 6 cards reversed. I don’t typically read reversals as the opposite or negative version of the upright meaning. I see them as a sign that I, or the client, need to look inwardly for guidance on the situation. There will be a lot of inner-self work where I take a harder deeper look into my inner thoughts and feelings about the situation. So by drawing so many reversals during this spread, the deck is saying that its main job is to help me see that I intuitively have the answers I’m seeking. This will help me further develop the gift of looking within myself for the answers I seek when using this deck.

Tarot Deck Interview Spread

When interviewing a deck, there are about 6 questions you want to include in your reading.

1.Tell me about yourself. What is your most important characteristic?

For this question, I drew Temperance Reversed. This means the deck wants me to know it is a well balanced deck. It will be fair and help me stay balanced in my emotions.

2.What are your deck strengths?

For this question, I drew Ten of Cups Reversed. This means the deck is happy, fun, optimistic and will help me work on looking at situations through a more optimistic lens. I tend to be pessimistic by nature so I must trust this deck to help me work on looking at the bright side of things a little more. This will definitely be a comfort deck that is more likely to tell me what I want to hear.

3. What are your limits?

For this question, I drew The High Priestess Reversed. This means the deck is being honest about not knowing everything and not being able to help me explore every side of spirituality. It is here to help me find my inner truths.

4.What are you here to teach me? For this question I drew 7 of Rods. This means the deck is here to teach me not to give up when the odds seem stacked against me. Not to give up when things seem hard. Even if my mind says I can’t, I still need to trust in the guidance of this deck to keep moving forward. That is how this deck will help me grow as a tarot reader. Very rarely do I see things through to the end. This is definitely something I need to work on.

5. How can I best learn to collaborate with you? The card I drew was Page of Rods. This means that in order to learn from this deck, I need to keep my intuitive ears open to fully hear the messages that are coming through the cards. I need to have an open mind and truly listen to what this deck is trying to tell me.

6. What is the potential outcome of our working relationship? The card I drew was the 4 of Swords. This is telling me that while working with this deck, I will achieve a meditative state of relaxation during readings. This deck will ultimately be successful in helping me contemplate what my inner voice is saying. It can be a very helpful meditative tool if I let it.

How to Get the Most Out of Your Tarot Reading

Think about creating an empowering question.

When submitting a question for a tarot reading, really think about your question.  If you would like to know about your love life, think about asking a question that can provide you with the steps you need to take in order to achieve your ideal relationship. Think about using open-ended questions instead of simple yes/no questions to find the advice you’re seeking from the tarot. Keep the questions focused on yourself and what you can do to better your situation. Also try to keep your questions focused on the present. This way, more information on how to better your current situation will come through in the reading.

For example, instead of asking “How is my love life? you would ask     “What can I do and/or stop doing in order to allow my ideal relationship to come into my life?”  The second question will give you a more specific course of action so you can achieve your goal of a happy relationship.

For example, instead of asking “Will I get the job I just applied for?” you would ask     “What steps can I take to improve in the work area of my life that will lead to an advancement in my career?”  The second question will give you advice on how to improve so you can land the job of your dreams.

For example, instead of asking “Is my husband/wife have feelings for someone else?” you would ask“What can I do to strengthen the bond between my husband and myself? ”  The second question will give you advice on how to focus on healing your relationship.

For example, instead of asking “Will I win money at the casino this weekend?” you would ask“How can I improve my financial situation? What blocks me from achieving my dreams and how can I get the outcome I desire?”  The second question will give advice on how to improve so you can see what stands in your way. This way, you can more easily remove the obstacle to create a clear path to your dreams.
